Post GenCon - Update
over 5 years ago – Thu, Aug 09, 2018 at 11:02:36 PM

Hey guys!
just got back from GenCon and I have finally had the chance to look at Embers for the very first time (well..technically the video is the second time I actually sat with the book). I also didn't fix my hair before recording and I apologize (but it isn't that bad).
As to fulfillment, Embers is in transit to the US and Europe and we will begin fulfillment soon.
Statbooks are still in the works, I've got some for pathfinder that I'll be putting into layout and getting early versions out to you soon.

I apologize for the silence, leading up to gencon there wasnt much to report, but now that I've gotten my hands on the book and inventory is on it's way, its good news to share.

Anyways, If you're still missing your embers PDF or havent gotten the early version of 5e stats, feel free to reach out.

I apologize for the waterfall of manufacturing and shipping delays, its been quite a headache and of course just my luck for something to come in and complicate things.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Brief: Printing/Shipping Update
almost 6 years ago – Mon, Jun 11, 2018 at 06:44:18 AM

Hey backers,
I apologize for the delay, last week I just got updates from the printer on everything thats going on.

Originally the plan was to merge the shipping from all the orders into one, but so far that does not seem to be the case with exception to products being sent to the EU (whichare being batched prior to being sent).

Embers ran into a production snag, after I had sent my revised cover it appears that they ran into some quality control issues (which the manufacturer discovered on their own, and had to backpedal to ensure that everything was up to their quality standards.)
As so far, I am being told that the expected ocean-bound date is July 20th. (of which shipping to the states should take 3 weeks and an additional week to ship out to backers.)

Embers - est ocean-bound date July 20th
Baby Bestiary - est ocean-bound date June 15th
Atlas Deck - est ocean-bound date June 13th
Atlas Animalia - should be arriving in the US this weekend

The embers book is the most complicated of the bunch, since the gold foil process is pretty intensive as well as the gold-page gilding (the sides of the page will be gold as well)

I will be airshiping myself some advance copies to take pictures and show you guys how the book is turning out.
In addition, I will be airshipping a few books (80) to GenCon to sell. It is unfortunate it comes to this as we were originally in the timeline of getting your books during/before GenCon, but this is the only show we make an appearance at, and its important to us that we're there with everything we can offer. If you want to pick up your books at GenCon just let us know.

The System Companions are sitll in the works, and will continue to be in the works most likely continue development even after fulfillment of the books. Our first priority is finishing up the 5e companion, then Shadow of the Demon Lord and Pathfinder.

Also, our amazing pixel artist, Angus Doolan, got a little crazy and made this awesome fireside scene featuring the Ceidwen, Brennin and the Earl. I thought it'd be fun to mockup like a videogame start screen, and I hope you enjoy it.

I apologize for the late update, I'm still working on getting more concrete information and I'm trying to wrap up a number of things prior to going on a brief personal vacation (end of june-early july), I should still have email though, but my responses may be limited.

I am still avaliable to answer any questions and if you're missing PDFs don't hesitate to reach out.

Cycle of Ember HandyGraphic
almost 6 years ago – Tue, May 29, 2018 at 07:48:22 PM

 Hey Backers,
A few of you have reached out to me asking me to clarify some aspects of the timeline and the cycle, so I decided to put together a little graphic to, hopefully, better illustrate whats going on.
I already added it to the DTRPG files and you should have gotten an email notifying you of the updated file (if you didnt but do have the PDF, all you need to do is check your Embers downloads).

In the printing world, Baby Bestiary (what was ahead of Embers) is printed and Embers has started printing.
I'll see if I can get some photos for you guys to check out.

PS. Also, I have a new social community site called Roleplay Cafe, and I have Embers (and our other projects up on there). Its a small community for people to talk tabletop, and its just a much easier space to share whats going on with all things tabletop gaming.

Hey Backers I know you asked for some wallpapers and here we are,

each has a link to my dropbox where you can download them. They are currently spec'd at 1920x1080 and I'll make more, just a few that I could make tonight. (personally i use the Gold Ceidwen one on my current desktop)

Also as you can see, here is the map that we had commissioned, though this was still very early in our development and the locations were still being thrown around as concepts.
Its an abstract map and personally I would have loved to see more standing architecture to get a better feel for the land. Anyways, I think it can still be useful to you.

More will be coming, and I hope you guys will enjoy the book (and please leave a review and/or rating, every little bit helps)
Stay Awesome

Embers v1.0
almost 6 years ago – Wed, May 09, 2018 at 04:42:33 PM

Hey Backers,
v 1.0 (well it's now v1.1) is finally here which means a file has been sent off to the printer (once i get a digital proof ill have one final opportunity to make some page swaps).

Its been a long journey and I want to take the time to thank you all for bearing with me (mostly patiently) during the re-design process.
I want to extend a special thanks to Scott Vandervalk who helped edit and rein in all of these narratives together.

Whats next?

the system companions, yes some work has begun on the fronts of SotDL and 5e. With the print and pdf out of the way, this means we can now double down on getting the companions made and sent out to you, hopefully before the print is delivered.
I'll also package together some wallpapers n such using some of the art we have, but this is secondary to getting the system companions out and done.

Closing Backerkit

Backerkit has remained open, as during the redesign process I felt uncomfortable taking your money with such a delay. Now that the PDF is done, I would like to Lock Down the surveys/pre-orders, confirm your addresses and get everything squared away.
You can access your backerkit page using this link
https://embers-of-the-forgotten-kingdom.backerkit.com/Backerkit will be locking down May 26th,
If  you need an extension or so forth on payment method just reach out to me directly

Again I want to say thank you for your support and your patience, and I hope you enjoy the book.

If you dont have the PDF please send me a message and I'll get you your download link.

if you want a place to go to discuss the product in a more social setting, check outhttp://RoleplayCafe.com/products/Embers
It's a social community I'm building called Roleplay Cafe, that essentially functions as a facebook but for the RPG industry (and accommodates companies, products, brands and creators).

Finally, we have a newsletter where we send out updates at most once per month about whats going on and what we're working on.
You can join that here
Metal Weave Games Newsletter Subscribe

oh and if you're curious about the mini, we'll hopefully be doing a minis kickstarter next which in include works from our various IPs. (Baby Bestiary, Atlas and Embers)

I think thats everything...
Thanks again and stay awesome everyone.
Andreas
